ONE of Northwich’s most historic sites will host a festival of concerts and art throughout July and August reports the Northwich Guardian.

The Lift Off Festival of Music and Arts, set in the grounds of the Anderton Boat Lift, starts on Saturday, July 16th, with a night of soul, courtesy of Souled As Seen. The Festival continues until 20th August when it hosts an unsigned bands night. In between there are groups such as QEII a Queen tribute band and Desperado, a top Eagles tribute band. There are also folk and punk nights, a teddy bears picnic, a brass band, country and western, blues and old time music hall nights.

At all events the gates open one hour before the start of the concert, and festival-goers are invited to bring a picnic.
