Refuse and recycling collections update
The majority of bin collections due on Monday 20 December were completed. However, on a small number of roads/passageways it was not safe to undertake the collections. Where this was the case, collection crews will revisit those roads/passageways today.
The refuse and recycling crews have commenced collections today (Tuesday 21 December). They will attempt to collect all refuse and recycling bins scheduled for today’s collection in accordance with the calendars which have recently been delivered to all households, however, due to the current icy conditions on some untreated roads/passageways there may be some disruption.
It is likely that some roads and passageways will not be accessible by the vehicles/crews and where this is the case we will do our best to empty the bins as soon as it becomes feasible and safe for the vehicles/crews. In such circumstances, residents are advised to leave their bins out for collection.
Due to the freezing conditions, we are also encountering problems with the contents of the green bins being frozen inside the bins which means some cannot be emptied, and some only partially emptied.
