Following on from the establishment of the Altrincham group of business leaders to develop a masterplan for the town, the Council has been reviewing the current situation and looking at how things have changed over the past few years.

Executive Councillor Mike Cornes said: “There has been a great deal of effort, time and money invested in Altrincham over recent years and this has seen a number of exciting developments be completed and proposed for the town. Whilst two of the larger schemes have been affected by the recession and complex behind the scenes negotiations we are confident that when the schemes are completed they will be the best for the town both in terms of the benefits they will deliver and their iconic design.

“The level of development in the town over recent years demonstrates the confidence developers and businesses have in Altrincham and the fact the Stamford Quarter is almost full, despite difficult trading times, shows retailers also have faith in Altrincham.
