Super Girl from Altrincham

A little girl who has battled adversity and illness picked up a bravery award at a celebrity-packed ceremony – where she was the star of the show.

Lillie Milligan, six, from Altrincham, was named Bravest Child at the national Well Child Awards.

She has chronic lung disease and has battled heart and lung failure all her life. She has had to have surgery many times, and is dependent on oxygen therapy.  Her dad Malcolm died from heart disease two years ago.

Lillie has Down’s Syndrome and was hospitalised with pneumonia the week before the ceremony in London, but battled on and was discharged specially so she could travel with her mother, Barbara.
